HELL'S GATE GEOTHERMAL WONDERLAND - TOUR OVERVIEW
Adventure and Cultural Tours Bay of Plenty specialize in smaller tour groups with a maximum of 19 passengers in our custom built luxury coach.
On cruise ship excursion dates we will meet you at the Port of Tauranga Cruise Ship departure gate; our friendly guide will be waiting for you with your name on our display board . Your journey will begin with a drive along Pilot Bay and proceed along the wonderful Mount Maunganui beach.
Situated on the East Coast, Mount Maunganui's Pacific coastline is a popular spot for surfers and swimmers alike. With an exceptional view of Mauao ‘The Mountain’ you will be given the opportunity to take some photo’s and hear some local facts along the way.
Passing by the New Zealand birthplace of Kiwifruit, we will provide you with details and history of this delicious fruit. With a brief stop by an orchard we will provide you with some of the industries inner working and what is involved with the day to day management of a Kiwifruit orchard.
Our journey will continue to take us to the Rotorua Lake District and to Hell’s Gate Geothermal Reserve and Mud Pools. This is a truly special destination where you experience the magic of geothermal mud and hot pools for yourself. Known for its healing properties; the locals our returned service men and visitors alike have soaked in these magical waters for arthritis, aches, pains and even wounds.
